I posted this just after the pope died in a different sub, and I got o er a hundred messages talking trash about immigrants at all different levels. I hope you don't have to deal with that too.

Why are people surprised that real Christians support immigrants. It’s in the fucking Bible.

Beautiful but he didn't commission it "It was the first time in 400 years, i.e. since Bernini, that a new sculpture was installed in St Peter's Square.\11]) The idea for the sculpture originated with Cardinal Michael Czerny, a fellow Canadian and undersecretary of the Migrants and Refugees Section, who commissioned it in 2016. Among the people represented on the ship are the Cardinal's parents, who immigrated to Canada from Czechoslovakia.\12]) The sculpture was funded by a family of migrants from northern Italy, the Rudolph P. Bratty Family. On September 29, 2019, Pope Francis and four refugees from various parts of the world inaugurated the sculpture." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angels_Unawares

"The sculptor said Pope Francis made his appreciation clear.

"He put his two hands on his heart, looked at me for a moment," he said.

"That gesture, he really showed to me how much he thinks this is a suitable sculpture to promote his ideas.""
