SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Democratic controlled cities of Salt Lake City and Boise adopted new city flags this week showing support for LGBTQ+ people in defiance of their states’ Republican-controlled Legislatures, which have banned traditional rainbow pride flags at schools and government buildings.

Mattel CEO confirms plans to raise prices as he calls for zero tariffs on toys

Mattel, the toy manufacturing giant and maker of Barbie, plans to raise prices on American toys due to tariffs, it said Monday in its earnings report.

Mattel said that tariffs hadn’t affected its earnings for the first three months of the year.

Spain moves forward with a proposed law to shorten the working week to 37.5 hours

Spain may soon move to a shorter week with workers enjoying 2.5 hours more rest after the government on Tuesday approved a bill that would reduce official working hours from 40 hours to 37.5 hours.

Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez's government does not have a clear majority in parliament, where the bill must be approved for it to become law.

Spain has had a 40-hour workweek since 1983, when it was reduced from 48 hours. »
