I wish they would stick to the main point: Due process is something that is afforded to everyone, not just citizens nor people who we like. The problem with focusing on Garcia is that the issue becomes Garcia personally, and whether he's a good guy or not Republicans WILL successfully turn him into a boogeyman. Then we end up with conversations about whether he was a gang member, drug-dealer, wife beater, etc. And none of that actually matters because gang members, drug-dealers and wife beaters still get due process.

Finally. Action and not just words. Perhaps he tried, but I wish he would have told the VP of El Salvador “well, I don’t expect you to send him to America without permission from the U.S., so let’s call the White House now and ask them if it’s okay. If they say ‘yes’, I’ll just take him back on my plane today.”

If Trump would have said “no”, there is no way they could defend that they are failing to “facilitate” his return. If he said “yes”, problem solved.

PS. I can’t wait to see the look on Leavitt’s face when this dude comes back to American soil. “He’s never coming back.” You sure about that, little girl?
