Machu Pichu isn't ancient, it was (probably) built in the 15th century.
I know that's still a long time ago, and I'm not just trying to be pedantic, I just think it's worth pointing out that in the grand scheme of things, it's really not very old!
The University of Oxford and Notre Dame Cathedral for example, both pre-date it by about 400 years. The Roanoke colony in modern-day North Carolina, was built around the same time as Machu Pichu too.
It's a beautiful view and I don't mean to shit on you, just think it's interesting to point out how relatively recently it was built.
