PORTLAND, Maine (WGME) -- Dozens of protesters took to Congress Square Park in Portland on Sunday, calling on Senator Susan Collins to hold a town hall for her constituents.

The group Indivisible Greater Portland says Senator Collins has not held a town hall for Mainers in over 25 years. So, on Sunday, the group held a town hall without her.

Participants voiced concerns about federal cuts from DOGE, tariffs, and Trump's talk about taking over Greenland and Gaza.

"People are scared. People have questions. People need answers. People don't understand what's going on. Things are just moving too fast, and they're out of touch with their elected officials who basically are sending form letters and not explaining their votes," Marie Follayttar, who attended the event, said.

CBS13 reached out to Senator Collins for a response but did not hear back.

I would ask her if her arm is still tired from stabbing every single woman in America in the back.

so, she's been reelected 4 times without holding a single townhall, and somebody thinks they can shame her into finally holding one?

Evidence shows she doesn't need to put in the effort. The people of Maine regularly vote to keep returning her to the Senate.

*she should hold them, but let's be honest - she has never seen a need to

The fact people keep voting for these assholes is the problem. Why would she hold a town hall if she can win elections without it? Why would any politician give a single fuck about doing anything for you if they regularly win election regardless of what they do?
