A group of Birmingham friends have built a mobile shower van to help homeless people in the city.

Ewen Kinnear, Bruce Loudon, Don Russell and Paul Taylor lead a team of volunteers who provide the service in the grounds of Birmingham Cathedral on Tuesday mornings.

They are part of the ShowerBox charity, which was created in London by Sarah Lamptey in 2018.

The Birmingham team also hand out toiletries and underwear to people in need.

My husband just worked a job where they got filthy. The guy working for my husband didn't want to get my sister's shower dirty, so he paid EIGHTEEN dollars to get a shower at a truck stop. Eighteen dollars is more than you need to eat a day in some places. This is an incredible service.

It's not uplifting if most of cities have venues to provide for food and shower in a building. But a shower in a van...
