Failed 2024 Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz has said he would “certainly consider” running for president in 2028 — despite his crushing defeat alongside then-Vice President Kamala Harris this past November.
“Look, I never had an ambition to be president or vice president.
I was honored to be asked,” the Minnesota governor told “the New Yorker Radio Hour” on Sunday.
And if nationally, people are like, ‘Dude we tried you, and look how that worked out,’ I’m good with that.”.
Tim Walz said he may run for president in 2028.
Walz, 60, recently ruled out running to replace the retiring Democratic US Sen. Tina Smith in 2026.
The selection of Walz by Harris raised eyebrows after the veep opted against picking Josh Shapiro, the popular Democratic governor of swing state Pennsylvania. »
