In February 2022, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, known for directing ‘The Witcher 3,’ founded Rebel Wolves with a team of experienced developers. Their first game, ‘The Blood of Dawnwalker,’ was teased last month. Now, Rebel Wolves has shared the game’s opening scenes, showing how a medieval European valley came under vampire rule.
The trailer introduces Coen, the main character, trying to save his sister, Lunka, who is sick with the plague. Human authorities plan to execute her, but vampires led by Brencis arrive and kill the guards. Brencis heals Lunka and tells Coen they are taking over the valley.
This event happens before the game’s main story. When we start playing, two years have passed since the vampires took control. Coen is now called the Dawnwalker because silver poisoning stopped him from becoming a full vampire. He stays human during the day and turns into a strong vampire at night.
The developers highlight that players will have narrative freedom in ‘The Blood of Dawnwalker.’ However, there’s a time limit: Coen has 30 days and nights to rescue his family from Brencis’ dungeons. Players must choose how to use this time wisely. They can also form alliances with others who want to overthrow the vampires, but not everyone’s goals match Coen’s.
Some humans support the vampires because Brencis has protected them and cured their plague. But the vampires treat humans like livestock and don’t let them leave the valley. The people have swapped human feudal lords for vampire rulers.
