Opinions on Jennifer Gardner aside, Jose Andres World Central Kitchen is an INCREDIBLE organization. They were in WNC within a day or tow, slinging food out of closed restaurants, helping people get water, helicoptering meals out, etc. They gave out thousands of meals, and they're still here. I was on both sides of the operation (getting meals and volunteering) and they do some really good work.
The PR here is more for the organization. It’s extremely common to publicize celebrity involvement to promote your organization. I don’t see any issue here.
Loosely related—I was in one of ABC’s parades at Disneyland back in 2003. I was positioned right next to the Alias car (with Jen Garner & her costar). We were in band uniforms, and were delayed, so ended up standing in the hot California sun for a while. We were just a bunch of band plebs standing next to celebrities….Jen insisted we take her personal waters out of her cooler in the car, since they could just bring her more 💜 so yes, Jen garner is my American sweetheart 😌
