Lest anyone thought the Elon Musk and Donald Trump collaboration would be smooth sailing for everyone involved, the world's richest man and cowboy space CEO is now directing his social media curse words at members of the pro-Trump far-right. Friday on his social media platform X, Musk said he would "go to war" to protect the H-1B immigration program, which allows employers to temporarily hire nonimmigrant aliens for specialized workplace roles.

"The reason I'm in America along with so many critical people who built SpaceX, Tesla and hundreds of other companies that made America strong is because of H1B," Musk wrote Friday evening. "Take a big step back and F--K YOURSELF in the face. I will go to war on the issue the likes of which you cannot possibly comprehend."

The reason I’m in America along with so many critical people who built SpaceX, Tesla and hundreds of other companies that made America strong is because of H1B.

Take a big step back and FUCK YOURSELF in the face. I will go to war on this issue the likes of which you cannot… — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) December 28, 2024

Whether that means Musk is going to aim one of his SpaceX rockets directly at Laura Loomer remains to be seen, but the whole spat started when the political activist/conspiracy theorist/historically racist viewpoint haver Loomer got upset over Trump picking Indian-born Sriram Krishnan to be an senior adviser on articifial intelligence.

Loomer said Krishnan, who is a naturalized citizen, was "in direct opposition to Trump's America First agenda" and called Indian immigrants "invaders." She then complained that her X had been censored, and that her account's verification badge had been stripped away. Loomer's frustrations echo those of other far-right X users, who also have been upset over losing blue checkmarks that they paid for.

"Tech billionaires are like termites who have descended upon Palm Beach to INFEST AND ROT from within," Loomer wrote on Musk's X Tuesday, or Christmas Eve, which tends to be a day of peace and reflection. "They don't just want to replace your jobs. They want to replace the MAGA agenda by hiding and eating away at it as they multiply from within."

In fact, according to Ramaswamy, a lot of this mediocrity problem stems from ABC's TGIF lineup of the mid 1990s.

"A culture that venerates Cory from 'Boy Meets World,' or Zach & Slater over Screech in 'Saved by the Bell,' or 'Stefan' over Steve Urkel in 'Family Matters,' will not produce the best engineers," wrote Ramaswamy.

The reason top tech companies often hire foreign-born & first-generation engineers over “native” Americans isn’t because of an innate American IQ deficit (a lazy & wrong explanation). A key part of it comes down to the c-word: culture. Tough questions demand tough answers & if… — Vivek Ramaswamy (@VivekGRamaswamy) December 26, 2024

So if you're waking from your holiday slumber and checking social media, only to see discourse about the episode where Cory has a massive lapse in judgment and cheats on Topanga with that scheming girl at the ski lodge, there you go. (Also, Ramaswamy should have considered that American culture has venerated the charming playboy and/or jock for decades: Sam Malone, The Fonz, Joe Namath ... we can go on.)

The best part is Trump would have just quietly let the visa program continue and nobody would have cared. But Musk just had to get baited into a Twitter fight about it.

He thought he could find an adoring public in all Trump's supporters and therefore went all right-wing, but got got a big reality check now it becomes clearer that their interests are not aligned.

They don't like him either.

He just couldn't keep his mouth shut. He just has to be in the spotlight.
