*The list is based on data from GSD and only includes games released in 2024. Note that the chart doesn’t have some titles (e.g. Black Myth: Wukong, Palworld), which would have ranked high if enough data had been provided. A similar case happened with Baldur’s Gate 3 last year, as GSD only collects digital sales data from participating companies (mostly major publishers and developers).
1. EA Sports FC 25 (#1 overall)
2. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (#3)
4. Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 (#12)
5. Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO (#13)
6. The Last of Us Part II Remastered (#20)
7. Super Mario Party Jamboree (#22) — physical sales only
12. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (#43)
19. Dragon Age: The Veilguard (#68)

Nice to see that people are actually voting with their wallets

"Oh dang it, people bought fewer games this year, so our profit margins are down! Quick, fire more talent, put more chat gpt-using interns in charge of writing, and increase the prices of the games across the board! We must get those profit margins back up ASAP!"
Every CEO ever, not realizing that the lack of talent and the ever increasing prices are precisely the reason why videogame sales keep going down. That, and getting microtransactions/battle passes in games that already cost 59,99 bucks to begin with.People were criticizing the decision of having the DLC for an older game (Elden Ring) as a candidate for this year's game awards, but like, maybe if these companies stopped firing talent, put more effort into making actually good games, and sold those games at reasonable prices, people wouldn't have to look to the past to find quality.

Anyone with more than two fingers of forehead would've known Veilguard wasn't going to sell well. A lot of people were skeptical of the game. Turns out they were right. The vibe check was right. Again.
