One is a complete media circus with millions of obsessed people online and guaranteed press coverage around every aspect. The other is sadly pretty normal and doesn’t really move the needle for most people. The Mangione case is probably the largest media event all of those officers will ever be a part of in their careers, it’s no surprise they all want to be seen with them
Because unfortunately the public instantly forgets cases like the one on the bottom, and the victims are immediately nothing but a footnote. So they don't need to worry about the public doing anything to the suspect, because they've already moved on to the next one.
