CD Projekt Red has shared that ‘The Witcher 4’ will feature a map size and quest count comparable to ‘The Witcher 3’. In a chat with the ‘Skill Up’ podcast, VPs Sebastian Kalemba and Małgorzata Mitrega mentioned the map and quests are ‘more or less‘ similar in scale to the previous game.

They emphasized their goal is to deliver a ‘super compelling experience‘, focusing on quality over quantity. Despite aiming for high quality, they assured us the game would still be ‘pretty big‘.

The story is set a few years after ‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’. The developers aim to create an experience that’s welcoming to newcomers while meeting the expectations of long-time players. They’ve asked for our trust as they work to build a universal experience.

Interestingly, Geralt will appear in ‘The Witcher 4’, though details about his role are being kept under wraps.

In summary, ‘The Witcher 4’ promises a game world and quest structure similar in size to its predecessor, with a strong emphasis on delivering a high-quality experience that appeals to both new and returning players.

Good, Witcher 3 was the game that taught me to ignore things on the map, because if I try to do everything I'll burn out in the first zone

Good. Massive worlds are always so empty and they have to be time sinks for the devs trying to fix that
