When I heard about the fire, it had only started for less than 10 minutes. I quickly grabbed my coat and run downstairs to see it with my own eyes. People everywhere in the shops surrounding the cathedral were gathering outside and looking in disbelief at the sky that was getting darker and smokier. Some ash even fell on my coat and burned a few millimeters.
I called my friend who lived nearby, she came to my place and we walked up the stairs to the last story in my building. There, a small window with a view of the roofs and ND in the background. We spent the whole night there watching in disbelief. We saw everything. There are no words to describe what a sight it was. The fire stopped by next morning.
Tonight is the reopening ceremony, I went to that same spot and took the same pic. I heard the cathedral's bells and opening speech and songs. Magical.
