Marjorie Fiterman, 102, and Bernie Littman, 100, had already lived fulfilling lives before their paths crossed.

After the loss of their spouses, both moved into the same senior living community in Philadelphia, USA, not expecting to find love again, let alone just a few doors down.

But after nine years of companionship, they tied the knot, becoming the oldest married couple with a combined age of 202 years and 271 days.

Their journey began at a costume party on their floor, where Bernie and Marjorie immediately clicked. Their first date coincided with the birth of one of Bernie’s great-granddaughters, marking the start of a relationship that would blossom over time.

Interestingly, although they attended the University of Pennsylvania around the same time, their paths never crossed back then. Bernie studied engineering, while Marjorie became a teacher, and life simply took them on different paths until they met at the senior living facility.

Bernie’s granddaughter, Sarah Sicherman, posted on social media, “With so much sadness and fear in the world, it’s nice to share something that brings people joy.” She added, “Today, my 100-year-old grandfather married his 102-year-old girlfriend! They both had 60-plus years of marriage to their first spouses and found love again at 100.”

The couple’s bond grew over shared meals and participation in community productions at their senior living facility. Bernie credits his long life to staying curious, reading, and keeping up with current events, while Marjorie attributes hers to drinking buttermilk.

Although Marjorie has no children of her own, she has gained two stepchildren, four grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren through her marriage to Bernie.

Congratulations to Marjorie and Bernie, and here’s to many more happy memories ahead.

I know I'll be informed if this is NOT "offbeat" news😂 but I thought it was sweet and kind of quirky:)
