This kind of situations breaks my heart. Was looking for more context on this why they have been separated in the first place and why did the relative have to comeback? Maybe he can take refuge in the south right?

That's generation is nearly gone, in another 20-30 years those sort of links will be gone and the two countries will be even further divided
