Just started reading The Diary of Anne Frank for the first time in my life today.
Never been a big history buff before, but as a U.S.-citizen post-election, I feel like I need to brush up on the warning signs of a fascist takeover before it's too late to abandon ship.
Gotta say, even as a shitty punk kid I felt a terrible sadness when I learned about Anne Frank and her story in middle school. Much older now and it still hits hard when I think about it. I know Anne Frank was not the only one who suffered in that way and there were other children or families who had the same happen, but something about putting a face to the story that hits hard.
I pray this story never repeats itself with any other class of people, especially during these crazy times we are living in.

I assume that's her sister Margot there too? (Currently reading the book, nearly finished).
