Since when does a destroyer have a flight deck? Shouldn't this be an aircraft carrier? sorry if I'm out of the know...

You mean. A multi purpose operation destroyer that is deffinitelly not a light aircraft carrier?

On the other hand, plenty of Japanese warplanes landed on American destroyers back in the 1940s...
