So crazy; growing up I had such pride in being American. I remember being in high school in the late 90s just thinking we were going go set the example for the world. We would hold ourselves to the highest standard, we would continue to work over coming sexism, racism, xenophobia, homophobia.

I miss that optimism. We have as good a chance to right this ship as we do this country completely falling apart.

Honestly, travelling around the states I’ve encounter incredible levels of hospitality and kindness. Met some great folks that went out of their way to make me feel welcome.

This is just another polarizing generalization that’s really part of the bigger problem working its way into many countries. Refusal of dialogue, unwillingness to compromise. Blade cuts both directions.
