When my dad was 11, he lived in Detroit (1965) and had cavities drilled without Novacaine and would say he was screaming in pain and the dentist did nothing. He says he is convinced the dentist was a Nazi and was anti-semitic otherwise why would he knowingly put an 11 year old through so much hell he didn’t go to a dentist for 50 years.
