There's absolutely no way he's "scared." He's been doing the same thing his entire entrepreneurial career.
He may have finally figured out that his strategy is bad, because he's drawing an absurd amount of attention to himself, and because we see that the pattern fits, I'm sure any investigator that looks into what he is doing is going to find serious violations of the law.
It's just another person that is piling up lawsuits and investigations, while people all over the place see giant cracks in what they are doing while they just keep lying...
That's what criminals do. If he's not a criminal, then why is he behaving exactly like one?
