Supporters of pro- Iran armed groups ransacked the offices of a Saudi TV channel in Iraq early on Saturday, a security source said, after the broadcaster aired a report referring to commanders of Tehran-backed militant groups as “terrorists”.
Between 400 and 500 people attacked the Baghdad studios of Saudi broadcaster MBC after midnight.
“They wrecked the electronic equipment, the computers, and set fire to a part of the building,” an interior ministry source said on condition of anonymity.
He said the fire had been extinguished and the crowd dispersed by police.
“Security forces are still deployed near the building,” he added.

Excerpts from an MBC programme had been making the rounds on Iraqi social media, sparking angry reactions from the pro-Iran camp.

SS: The Saudi MBC network published a video yesterday in which it called the leaders of Hamas and senior members of the "Axis of Resistance" who were eliminated (among them the Iraqi Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis) as "terrorists".
The supporters of the Shia axis in Iraq broke into the offices of the MBC network in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, vandalized the offices and set them on fire.
This is Tehran’s way of threatening Riyadh. Iran is on the back foot and thinks Saudi Arabia is not helping, or maybe conspiring with America (and therefore Israel), especially in ejecting Iran from Lebanon.
If history repeats itself, this means we should expect Iran to try to assassinate Saudi ally in Lebanon, Samir Geagea.
This is why: On October 30, 2004, Alarabiya (MBC Saudi group) bureau was bombed in Baghdad. Hezbollah pawn and 1975 OPEC kidnapping second in command Anis Naqqash told Al-Jazeera that he and a senior IRGC commander met with the team of Lebanese PM Hariri in Beirut months later. Hariri wanted Hezbollah to disarm. IRGC warned Hariri to heed the lesson from Baghdad attack and choose wisely (side with Iran against his ally Saudi).
Hariri didn’t listen to Iran. In February, Hariri was assassinated. A UN Tribunal found Iran backed Hezbollah militia guilty of the crime.
