The Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a Shahed drone depot in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Russia launches Iranian-made Shahed drones against Ukraine almost every day. The destruction of the base in Krasnodar Krai will significantly reduce the Russian ability to terrorize civilians in Ukrainian cities and villages.

“Today, a strike group of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in cooperation with the Security Service of Ukraine, attacked a Shahed drone depot near the village of Oktyabrsky in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai,” the statement of the Ukrainian Army said.

According to available information, around 400 strike drones were stored at the base. Control results confirmed a direct strike on the depot, with secondary detonations observed at the facility.

On 9 October, Russian forces launched a series of missile and drone attacks across Ukraine, targeting multiple oblasts. Ukrainian air defense downed 21 out of 22 Russian drones over Odesa, Vinnytsia, and Kyiv oblasts.

Russian drone attack in the Odesa district injured five people. Three of them were hospitalized. The attack also damaged a nine-story building and a medical facility, while an unfinished construction site caught fire. Russians attacked Odesa with attack drones for the third night in a row.

The drones were Iranian made.

The cost of a single shaheed 136 drone is estimated between $20,000 and $50,000.

The destroyed depot reportedly stored 400 drones.

Ukraine destroyed between $8 million and $20 million in Russian military assets, in addition to eliminating future threats.

Not bad.

I thought that was Krasnoyarsk krai, which is halfway across the country. That would’ve been a lot more impressive.

Still well done, Ukraine !

In Retrospect it would not make sense for shahed drones to be so far from the front lines.
