Like many Americans, Carolina Giuliani was paralyzed over the prospect that Donald Trump — the man she blames for ruining her father and damaging her family — could be close to returning to the White House.
Month ago, polling showed that Trump was ahead of incumbent President Joe Biden, and the looming terror kept her from acting — until she found the courage to lay bare her family’s challenges in a Vanity Affair article entitled “Trump Took My Dad From Me. Please Don’t Let Him Take Our Country Too.”
Buoyed by Vice President Kamala Harris’ entrance into the presidential race and the Democratic nominee’s vault to the top of the polls gave Giuliani hope — and a nudge to speak out.
“Take it from me, Trump destroys everything he touches,” she wrote. “I saw it happen to my family. Don’t let it happen to yours, or to our country.”
On Friday, in a discussion with MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace on Deadline White House, Caroline Giuliani dived deeper into the cleaver of cruelty that Trump has used to split open families across the nation.
“I can’t really speak to what is in other people’s minds or why they make the decisions that they make,” Giuliani said. “I think power is very alluring, but I think the more important question is why he’s caused such division among so many families in this country. ...
“This is so relatable, having this chasm in your family over Trump, and the reason for that is because he spews this toxic cruelty. And when you are a woman or a person of color or a gay person or trans person, and someone that you love supports a man like that, it is really hard to reconcile that support with their love for you.
“So I want healing for our country, and I do want us to find the common humanity in one another, even when we disagree about politics. But if Trump becomes the president again, that will not be possible. Kamala Harris is our only path to healing. She presents a really beautiful path to healing for us,” she added.
Wallace wondered: How is it possible that your father, known the world over as a prosecutor, could throw in with Trump, who has 34 felony convictions? Giuliani, of course, faces criminal charges of his own of election interference and has been disbarred in New York and Washington, D.C. as a result of his alleged anti-democratic crimes for Trump.
“It’s a hard phenomenon to understand. It definitely is,” Carolina Giuliani said. “I view Trump as a disease, and I think it’s really important to remember that with every disease, prevention is a much more effective strategy than treatment. ... I thought we had cured ourselves of it the first time, but it doesn’t seem like we have.
“And I think if he becomes the president again, we may have a terminal illness in our country. And that really, really scares me.”
What is her current relationship with her dad?
“I love my dad. We talk openly about our feelings about things,” she said. “And it’s a challenge, but again, so many other families have this same challenge. You said it was unique. It isn’t, it isn’t unique. It’s a little bit larger than life in public, but it’s not unique, and I really want us to be able to disagree about politics ... but I don’t believe that we have the path to doing that under Trump. I think Kamala Harris is the only person who can restore our ability to disagree peacefully.”
Giuliani’s father was slapped with a $148 million civil judgment for his lies about Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss. Rudy Giuliani is likely to end up broke as a result of his Trump sycophancy.
“Watching [Ruby and Shaye] share their stories was extremely gut wrenching and difficult, and I feel so bad for everything that they’ve gone through,” Caroline Giuliani said. “I can’t even imagine that pain, and that is why I’m so excited to support Kamala Harris, who has spent her life fighting for citizens, not against them.
“She would never do anything like this. It’s so clear that Trump does not care about his citizens, he’s willing to step on anyone’s backs to keep power, and that is not a person who deserves the highest office in our land.”

She's right, Trump is a cancer, and unless he's eradicated, his poison metastisises and eventually takes over the organism. We can't wait for his defeat in November so he can face all those felony charges, be convicted, and sent to prison for hopefully the rest of his life.

She hits the nail on the head with this one. Anyone who has seen friends or family slowly rot from the inside out after following trump would agree. He’s rotted the souls of so many people. It’s a shame
