This is the incredible moment a dog that was trapped in a hole for eight days was pulled to safety after volunteers worked tirelessly day and night without giving up.
Rose, a Jack Russel, tumbled roughly 26ft (8m) through a 12-inch (30cm) opening in the rocky outcrop last Thursday (Sept 26) in Halifax. She was finally freed yesterday afternoon.
Local workers, some of whom even slept at the site and travelled from as far as Scotland, spent the last week working to free the pup before it was too late.

Hundreds of residents in the FB page 'Rose updates' praised the volunteers for their dedication, including Ben Kitchingman, who led the operation and was only torn away from the mission to see the birth of his child - before coming back to help a day later.
Firefighters were called twice to the site, near Dudley Crescent, but chose not to intervene due to worries over the ‘structural integrity’ of the crag. Thankfully, all the volunteers' efforts were not in vain, as after eight days of digging and drilling to get close enough to the dog to pull her out of the hole.
The volunteers were shared this amazing moment by a Facebook Live on the Rose updates page on Facebook - which kept everyone up to date with the rescue mission. Thousands of people watched the video and posted crying emojis, others praised volunteers.

After a few minutes of celebrating, she was quickly rushed to the vets for a check-up, where she was given some medication and the 'all clear' to go home.
Along with the Facebook page, a fundraiser which was used to replace the workmen's personal tools, used for their own small businesses, which were destroyed to get Rose out of the hole, reached £15,000.
The men were able to celebrate with a free pint at the Flying Pig before going home to see their families. Now there are calls for the volunteers to receive an award for their hard work - with suggestions from a citizen award to the Pride of Britain.

😭😭 "Proper dog!" Hearing all of them cheering for the dog when she got out! Not praising themselves but cheering for the pup just for surviving 😭😭
