If you can stomach it, this is an amazing practice. An aunt of mine always adopted the oldest cats in the shelter. She kept 3 at a time. When one passed, she would go get another. She has lost so many cats in her lifetime, but she also provided a lot of senior cats with love and comfort at the end.
