You know those postal vehicles you see driving around neighborhoods? They don't have air conditioning.

The worst part is that the USPS had the gall to issue discipline to this man weeks before he died for taking too long on his route, in the middle of a heat wave. Then, later, his widow found out that the Heat Illness Prevention training he should have received was falsified by postal management. RIP Brother Gates.

I'll speak up on this exact issue.

My wife was working for Amazon in their delivery vehicles. Amazon makes them turn their vans off at each stop to save gas supposedly.

Great. Except those vans with their dark colors heat up so fucking fast. To where if you don't keep the AC running they're just ovens.

She had a really long route on a really hot day, and she is heat sensitive due to a medical condition with her heart. They basically pressure/brainwash their drivers with the expected metrics to simply keep going.

She texted me she wasn't feeling well, but only had 20 stops left. I told her to immediately stop and simply blast the AC for 30min or find a gas station for some ice and to wait inside in case she passed out so someone could hopefully help.

She was so close. I've been around and personally been on the verge of heat stroke due to sports.

Your voice gets wavery, and sluggish because your brain is cooking. I asked her if she was still sweating and she couldn't honestly determine if she was.

I told her those stupid packages, and another 50$ for Bezos isn't worth it. If they fire her I'd be raising hell on her behalf.

After she stopped and refreshed she was legit a different person and her old self compared to when she was on the brink of heat exhastion/stroke.

Stand up for yourselves. It's not worth dying for a job that sees you as a fucking number. Fuck their metrics. Only metric that matters is your life.
