During primary voting, I had someone near my polling place want to talk to me about a local MAGA candidate. Told them I didn’t want to waste their time as I wouldn’t vote for them. They pushed and asked why, so I gave a pretty direct response: Donald Trump is an existential threat to democracy and after January 6th, I would never vote for any candidate that supported him. They moved along after that.
I honestly have no idea how someone’s mind can become so twisted that they can minimize or deny what happened that day. It’s even more baffling that they have shut off critical thinking for Donald Trump of all people. I understand it’s due to social media/feedback loops/blah blah. But it is still completely unbelievable.

Depressing that the Republicans in Congress wholeheartedly support the same guy who sicced his followers upon them.
