PHOENIX (AP) — Arizona’s Civil War-era ban on nearly all abortions officially is being repealed Saturday.

Abortion has sharply defined Arizona’s political arena since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022.

Republican lawmakers, who hold a narrow majority in both chambers, derailed discussions about repealing the ban. »

Two hospitals in Springfield, Ohio went into lockdown on Saturday morning, as bomb threats plagued the town for a third day.

Bomb threats shuttered schools and government buildings, including City Hall and DMV offices, on Thursday and Friday, with evacuations and closures disrupting town life.

Washik says she was having a playful water gun fight with a child at a party when she accidentally sprayed water on a neighbour's chest.

A child was dragged off a dock and underwater in a rare attack by a river otter at a marina in Washington state on Thursday, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife said.

The otter pulled the young child underwater with the mother still on the dock at Bremerton Marina in Kitsap County.

Moments later, the otter resurfaced and the mom rescued her child out of the water. »
