This is really great to see but make no mistake, as popular as she seems, Trump can still very much win the election. Ignore polls or how things “appear” to be going and be sure to vote in November!
Edit: But yes, it’s pretty kickass to see how packed her rally’s are!
For those of you non-Americans or non-North Carolinians wondering why NC is so important:
NC is a swing state, part of the six or seven that are swing states. It’s a populous state and it has large swaths of both college and college-educated voters, a large Black population, and a huge population of Southern Baptist Christians.
There’s a portion of this state called the Research Triangle. It’s called a triangle because there are three big-name universities in three college towns: Raleigh (NC State), Chapel Hill (UNC), and Durham (Duke). The population there skews young and college educated, which are groups that are more likely to vote Democratic. There’s also a portion in the northeast corner of the state that also is heavily Democratic because it has a high Black population. The rest of the state as I said previously are very Christian, a group that leans very Republican. It’s why the state, despite being a swing state, hasn’t voted for a Democrat since Obama in 2008. NC has voted Republican since 2012, and Trump is currently ahead in the polls in NC. The state has a high Electoral College count relative to all the swing states, which is why both parties are hoping to win it. Harris is counting on Black voters, college-educated voters, and the Charlotte metro area, while Trump is counting on the evangelicals and Southern Baptists who have carried the state for Republicans for the past three elections
