They’re not poor. She’s sitting on a stool, that’s very short, as is really common in Vietnam because that’s just how we have some seats. There could be a ton of reasons why they’re outside on the curb, like maybe it’s too noisy inside or the boy wasn’t concentrating so they got creative.
People doing stuff outside on the street is really normal in Vietnam. Maybe not homework normal, but it’s also totally not abnormal either. You can tell from their clean clothes, their clean hair etc that they’re not homeless?
Just because a country has different cultural norms than you doesn’t mean you can just claim they’re homeless and in poverty.
