Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign responded to former President Donald Trump's proposed debate schedule, which he posted on Truth Social just after midnight on Saturday.

The former president said there would be a debate on Fox News on September 4 in Pennsylvania, as well as the previously agreed to September 10 debate on ABC News in Pennsylvania, and a third debate on NBC News on September 25 in Michigan. "Details to follow. I look forward to seeing Kamala at all three Debates!" he wrote.

However, the Harris campaign suggested that this schedule was not agreed to from their side, except for the ABC debate.

"We're pleased Trump finally agreed to debate the Vice President on ABC after previously trying to back out. We are open to another debate, and we'll continue those conversations. But to be clear, any additional debate would be subject to Trump actually showing up on September 10. We're not playing his games," a Harris campaign aide told Newsweek in a Sunday morning email.

Newsweek reached out to the Trump campaign via email for further comment on Sunday morning.

ABC News on Thursday said that Trump, the GOP presidential nominee, and Harris, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, have agreed to debate on September 10. The former president said he would debate the vice president on the ABC News stage a month from now during a news conference at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida the same day.

The former president previously agreed to the same debate when ABC News first issued an invitation in May. At the time, the debate was with President Joe Biden, who later dropped out of the race on July 21 and endorsed Harris to replace him as the Democratic nominee.

After Biden was replaced by Harris, Trump initially appeared to back away from the ABC News debate. He said he would "probably end up debating" Harris during an interview with Fox News that aired on July 29. However, he added: "I can also make a case for not doing it."

He's gonna chicken out and argue her not showing to the Fox debate means he doesn't have to show to any others.

"We're not playing his games."

Good. Because 100% any debate before Sept. 10 would be his last debate.

Good on Harris for holding her ground on this.
