Upon arriving to the scene, they found the woman "entangled in the conveyer belt system used to move baggage," fire officials said.

Medics pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

Police said surveillance footage of the area showed the woman "entering an unoccupied restricted area at 2:27 a.m."

She was discovered at approximately 7:30 a.m., police said, and emergency responders were called to the scene.

My dad worked on the install of these belts at our local airport and his one bit of advice was, “those are not toys. don’t ever go near those things and if someone gets trapped hit the emergency stop immediately.” I think about it every time I grab my luggage.
