Taylor Swift has canceled her Vienna shows in Austria after learning there was a terrorist plot that would have targeted the Eras Tour.

Swift was set to perform at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

“Taylor Swift The Eras Tour Vienna shows cancelled due to government officials confirmation of planned terrorist attack,” read the statement from Barracuda Music.

The statement continued, “With confirmation from government officials of a planned terrorist attack at Ernest Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone’s safety.”

Barracuda Music assured fans, “All tickets will be automatically refunded within the next 10 business days.”

A 19-year-old was detained on Wednesday morning, and a second one was arrested in the afternoon, according to Franz Ruf, director-general for public safety in the Ministry of the Interior, per ABC News.

According to a report from NBC News, one of the suspects allegedly pledged allegiance to ISIS, with authorities saying that both men were radicalized online. The suspects were reportedly planning to carry out attacks in Vienna, which included Swift’s concert.

Officials had initially said Swift’s shows would continue, noting that “the concrete danger has been minimized.” Authorities had assured that increased security measures would be taken to ensure the safety of everyone at the stadium.

Swift is set to return to London’s Wembley Stadium on August 15 to play five more nights. The singer will return stateside on October 18, playing three consecutive nights at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.

Incredible work by those investigating….could have turned into something way worse than the Manchester attacks a few years back.

Makes me wonder how many undercover agents are involved in keeping attacks like this from happening. How often do the terrorist groups pass on information as a test to see what info the authorities act on?

Regardless, it would be an extremely stressful profession.

Seems like the responsible thing to do. More security could protect her, but still leave her fans at risk. Good on her.
