Edit 36 July: THE DICTATOR FLED AS PROTESTORS TOOK OVER HER RESIDENCE. BANGLADESH IS FREE FROM HER TYRANNY!
Context: Millions of people joined around the whole country to raise their voices against the dictator Sheikh Hasina and her regime that turned a peaceful protest into a bloodbath, murdering and arresting countless innocents, mostly students and even children, who were watching from the safety of their homes. The violence, which has been ongoing for many years, in some way or the other, escalated on 15th July, 2024 when police and govt. backed goons, AKA Bangladesh Students League opened fire on harmless and unarmed students. The protests have been ongoing but so has the violence. The dictator deployed most defense forces in the country and imposed shoot on sight curfews but that has not slowed down the brave souls, who are now joined by the general public. The only demand now is for the resignation of this killer.
The "official" death count is 200+, including 32+ children. However, there are high doubts that this is true since the regime has always fabricated information to twist the narrative and also because there was a nationwide Internet blackout for 11 days which prevented people to share information. Additionally, police are stopping people on the streets to forcefully check their phones and thousands of households are being raided during the nights after turning off electricity supply to the whole area and students are being taken by these goons even if they find that the individual has shared a post on social media talking about the protests, only to be thrown in jail, or worse, are never to be found.
As of right now, 79 more civilian deaths have been confirmed today.
Edit 35 July: today's death count has gone up to 93
It is being referred to as 35th July because the bloodshed started in July and people want to remind her and the protestors of it every day.

Is this Bangladesh that Hasina is from? I ask because I'm unfortunately ill informed and don't have a clue this is directed at.
