Everybody has a plan till they get punched in the mouth. And boy, as the veteran political operative James Carville noted with relish this week, the Trump campaign has just been hit hard. They are reeling after an unscheduled meeting with this basic tenet of pugilism and politics, outlined years ago by the noted academic Mike Tyson.
It was quite a blow: Joe Biden replaced, seamlessly and smoothly, by Kamala Harris. Old replaced by young(ish). A picture changed. The Trump team left needing a rethink on the hoof of the plans they had for this eventuality.
Or was Carville being (unusually) too kind to the Republican Party? It seems possible, incredibly, that this was not a case of a plan being torn up in the

It doesn’t help that Elon is allowing Twitter (I refuse to call it X) to spread disinformation and he even pinned an AI altered video of Kamala Harris.
