In 2020 Trump signs an executive order sending Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agents into cities across the US. In Portland they begin abducting people off the street who are walking away from or are near protests and loading them into unmarked vehicles. DHS head claims that they identify themselves but no evidence is given and videos of one incident show them not saying anything and with identifying patches (other than "Police") obscured or removed. Charges are not filed against the protesters taken and they're held without any paperwork showing an arrest or access to attorneys.
The picture above is from the video of one incident where Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) Agents are seen silently, hands on guns, walking up to a protester who has their arms raised and taking them into an unmarked van. The only reason we know they were CBP is because the DHS head later admitted that they were, they did not identify themselves at the time.
Yeah, this was a particularly disturbing episode of recent American history. IIRC, there was one incident where someone actually fired shots at one of CBP's goon squads, perhaps understandably so, since masked, unidentified armed men grabbing people off the street would normally be a pretty reasonable cause for alarm.
In washington DC during the BLM protests there were all kinds of random law enforcement people that were brought in by trump to keep order... random groups of like 10 dudes with Ohio State Penitentiary gear on trying to do crowd control in downtown DC. I have a jar of rubber bullets i picked up off the street. They all were gone for Jan 6th tho.
