NJ man admits to decapitating seagull after it attempted to take fries from daughter: Affidavit

A South Jersey man is facing charges after authorities say he decapitated a seagull.

NORTH WILDWOOD, New Jersey (WPVI) -- A South Jersey man is facing charges after authorities say he decapitated a seagull.

Officers responded on July 6 to a report of animal cruelty at Morey's Piers located at 2501 Boardwalk Avenue.

According to court documents obtained by Action News, Franklin Zeigler, 29, of Cape May, admitted to killing the seagull after it attempted to take french fries from his daughter.

He then reportedly asked Morey's Piers staff for a trash bag while holding the dead seagull.

Zeigler allegedly became irate and uncooperative with officers on an unrelated investigation, which led to his arrest on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

On July 18, he was charged with third-degree animal cruelty after officers obtained witness statements and photos, investigators said.

He was released on a summons pending a future court date.

If you have any information related to this case or any other criminal activities, please contact the North Wildwood Police Department Detective Division at (609) 522-2411.

I was waiting at a cash machine one sunny Wednesday afternoon many years ago in Rickmansworth High Street. The guy at the machine was laughing oddly, and his mate was crouched down next to him. They were late teens, early 20's. His mate stood up, folded something away and said "they don't normally do that!" and walked off.

As they walked off I noticed he had spots of blood on his shirt and tie...

I looked down where he was crouched and there was a headless pigeon reflexively flapping feebly in a pool of its own blood. He'd cut its head off with a swiss army knife (which was what he folded away as he stood up).

The thing that really freaked me out was that he said "they don't normally do that". Like he does this on the regular and this one was weird. Straight up serial killer shit. Made me feel queasy for days.

Bad luck to kill a sea bird.

This guy has got some reflexes. I don't think it's easy to do this.
