When I was working in Johannesburg occasionally throughout the late 90’s, there was a burgeoning car-jack defense market that offered, among other things, a flamethrower defense and (I seem to recall) some sort of retractable sword device that attacked a car-jacker’s ankles. It seemed like a James Bond thing to me at the time.
