I lived in DC at this time, and it was scary as hell. I was crossing the street to get to the subway, and a car backfired. Every single person hit the ground, thinking it was a shot fired.
Scary times...especially because it was just a year after we watched the Pentagon burn on 9/11.
Lived in Fredericksburg. Step-dad had me lay on the floor of the backseat while he pumped gas until these fucks finally got caught. I often forget about that time in my life until one of these posts pops up. It feels so surreal that we lived like that for a couple months.
