I hope he receives the same level of mercy and justice from the legal system that the Central Park Five received.
They were a group of Black teens wrongly accused of raping and murdering a jogger in 1989. Before they even received a trial, Trump took out full pages ads in various NY papers, calling on NY to bring back the death penalty in hopeful expectation of these kids - literally 14 to 16 years old - would be tried as adults.
The kids did end up getting convicted and serving jail time - 6 to 13 years - but were ultimately exonerated when police eventually ran a DNA test and got a confession from the real perpatrator.
Throughout his political career, he's talked such a big game about being a law and order president. There's nothing more gratifying then, one again, seeing him lose fair and square to our legal system - which frankly has too often has let him wriggle free.
