What is this jeopardy?

I have one of these that's somehow survived for around 10 years and grown to about 5 feet long (I won't say tall because it flops over) without ever opening up a cup. The cups just sort of wither on the ends of the leaves, smaller than a pea. It's had zero feed added to the soil and can't have gotten nutrients from bugs. A couple younger plants have sprouted next to it in the pot and they seem to make their cups fine, but the elder plant is some genetic freak or something. Useless for keeping flies away, but interesting in its own way.

Edit: to the people saying it needs more water, it's literally sat in an inch of water almost all the time. To those talking about soil nutrients, I used soil specifically for carnivorous plants so I figure it had the right lack of nutrients. As to humidity, maybe that's worth looking into. To the ones saying I should fertilise it: well first I'd like you to battle the people saying it prefers low nutrients. But then maybe I agree with you. But also this thing only had babies last year, it went 9 years and grew really tall with nothing.
