image for Man snags $14K Cartier earrings for $14 after website price glitch, reports say

A 27-year-old man snagged $14,000 Cartier earrings for under $14 due to a pricing error on the website.

Rogelio Villarreal, a Mexican citizen, posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, that he was scrolling through social media on Dec. 12, 2023, when he noticed the 18-carat rose gold Clash de Cartier earrings on the jeweler’s website.

Cartier made a mistake and listed the diamond earrings for 237 pesos ($14), instead of the correct price, 237,000 pesos ($14,000).

Villarreal said he “broke out in a cold sweat” after seeing the offer on the jeweler’s website, according to his social media post.

After a few months of going back and forth with the jeweler, Cartier offered him a bottle of champagne instead of the jewelry, AP reported.

Villarreal finally got the earrings last week, at his $14 price.

“It feels great and it’s cool not to be the underdog for once in my life,” Villarreal wrote. »

Disturbing Photos Emerge of Texas Dairy Worker’s Rare Bird Flu Infection from Cow

Tens of millions of chickens have already died or been culled to prevent the virus from spreading further.

This raises the possibility that the virus could adapt to better infect and transmit between mammals, potentially bringing the world closer to a bird flu pandemic.

Experts are particularly worried about the virus potentially spreading to pigs, which are known “mixing vessels” that can allow genetic reassortment between avian and human flu strains. »

The idea that the Manor Lords dev should 'just hire 50 people' to update it faster is 'fundamentally not the way things work,' says publisher

A solution put forward by another commenter was that Styczeń should "immediately hire 50 people and create a gigantic company, and that way they can get faster updates.".

What commenters actually want isn't always what they say they want, he said, particularly with regard to the hiring spree pitch.

"What they're probably not thinking about is that that's just fundamentally not the way things work," said Bender. »
