If you thought fighting the Ebony Warrior was difficult, try speedrunning through the entire game and killing him in under 12 minutes of playtime.

Speedrunner “Nucular” has officially set a new The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim world record by besting the infamous late-game foe in just 11 minutes and 47 seconds. But, that’s not all. According to them, they can shave even more time off their latest run.

The Ebony Warrior is a fearsome opponent in Skyrim that seeks out the Dragonborn as soon as they hit level 80. The Redguard warrior, clad in enchanted Ebony Gear, the third-best gear in the game, is a challenge to take down. But, ever since the release of the Dragonborn add-on in December 2012, speedrunners have used him as a yardstick to see how fast they can clear the game.

Previously, “Waz” held the world record for killing the Ebony Warrior in 14 minutes and 27 seconds in 2021.

The former record-holder uses an exploit where they repeatedly leveled up “Alchemy”, “Speech”, “Enchanting”, and “Smithing” to reach level 80 as fast as possible. Then, they fashion themselves a “Legendary Iron Dagger” to defeat the challengers in two hits. The new record-holder uses a similar method but with a twist.

After the initial three skills, Nucular levels up “Heavy Armor” and “Block” instead. Afterward, they cleave the Ebony Warrior in half with their axe.

Unlike Waz, who celebrated by slaying everyone in sight in Whiterun, Nucular had their eyes set on the goal.

According to their post on Reddit, they can use this strategy to set a new world record in under 10 minutes.

It’s unclear if it will take Nucular another three years to reach their new goal or if they can set a new record in the next few weeks.

When Is The Elder Scrolls 6 Coming Out?

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim came out in 2011. The game has since been ported to every mainstream console. But, we still haven’t heard an official word about when The Elder Scrolls 6 is coming out.

Microsoft Gaming CEO is under the impression that The Elder Scrolls 6 will be released in 2028. However, Bethesda hasn’t committed to a release window since confirming the game at E3 2018.

At this rate, Bethesda could port Skyrim to the next PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo consoles before the next game in the series comes out.

The only thing that’s clear at this point is that Fallout 5 is next on the docket.

There’s an Ebony warrior? This must be at 4000 hours in because I’m not there at 3000
