According to a recent job listing for a “Senior Technical Artist” by Electronic Arts, Motive Studios’ Iron Man game will be an open-world title.

As per the job description, the hired individual will “help oversee the rendering related aspects of an open world action adventure AAA title.”

The same job advert also confirms that Motive Studios is working on the next Battlefield game alongside “an original Iron Man” title.

On April 9, 2024, Motive Studios General Manager Patrick Klaus revealed in an official update that Motive Studios will be part of a collaborative effort that will help develop a new entry in Electronic Arts’ best-selling first-person shooter franchise. In addition to Motive Studios, Criterion Games, DICE, and Ripple Effect, will pool their resources on the development of an unnamed Battlefield entry.

While Motive Studios is part of the brigade of developers working on Battlefield, most of its focus is on Iron Man after releasing a remake of Dead Space on January 2023, as per the studio’s October 2023 update.

Motive Studios’ Iron Man game will use Unreal Engine 5 with help from a “Community Council made up of Iron Man and Marvel fans.”

Unfortunately, Motive Studios’ job listing and official announcements didn’t mention if more remakes in the Dead Space franchise are coming. The studio may have shelved the series in the meantime.

Electronic Arts Slowly Unraveling Details About Its Three-Game Marvel Deal

In October 2022, Electronic Arts confirmed its partnership with Marvel Entertainment for three games. Motive Studios’ Iron Man game was the first named title. The next game is Cliffhanger Games’ debut game, another open-world action-adventure project featuring Black Panther. EA hasn’t revealed the third one.

Motive Studios’ Iron Man game doesn’t have a release date. However, based on the progress, gamers can expect it to launch for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC within the next few years.
