Amazon’s live-action adaptation of the best-selling Bethesda franchise “Fallout” is a huge hit. Its critical acclaim and popularity are making a positive impact on the source material.

According to @PlayTrackerNet, Fallout entries across all platforms has seen a notable increase in sales and popularity. On Steam, the concurrent player count for Fallout games has doubled overnight. At the same time, the number of console players increased by an average of 50% following the show’s premiere on April 10.

As per SteamDB, Fallout 4 is the most popular series entry on Steam. It peaked at 58,304 players on April 13, which is the game’s highest player count since May 2016. A similar jump in numbers is happening with Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, peaking at 4,402 and 13,729 players within the past 24 hours, respectively.

The controversial multiplayer centric Fallout 76 is perhaps the biggest success story. With a peak player count of 29,295 players in the past 24 hours, it’s now close to surpassing its all-time record of 32,982 players from May 2020.

The rest of the franchise, including Fallout 1 (1,675 players), Fallout 2 (800 players), and Fallout Shelter (5,229 players), are all posting big if not record numbers as well.

The ongoing franchise-wide sale on Steam is a contributing factor in the surge of players over the weekend. However, much of the resurgence is likely due to the show’s success on Amazon.

How to Watch “Fallout” On Prime Video

All eight episodes of the first season of Fallout are available to stream exclusively on Prime Video.

To watch Fallout, you’ll need an active Prime Video membership, which costs $8.99 a month. It’s also included with an Amazon Prime membership, priced at $14.99 a month or $139 a year.

Prime Video is available on several compatible devices, including directly from the web or using the Prime Video app on iOS and Android devices, video game consoles, and select smart TV models.

Chronologically, the Fallout TV show is a sequel to all six games in the franchise so far. It’s set nearly a decade after the events of Fallout 4 (2287) and 19 years after Fallout 3 (2277).

Despite the show’s success, Bethesda and Amazon hasn’t confirmed Season 2 of the Fallout TV Show.
