New Delhi: The Associated Press has won a prestigious award for a picture showing Hamas terrorists parading the naked body of a woman after murdering her. The win has sparked massive outrage in the world, with some saying the the win is “an outrageous desecration of Jewish life”. The picture is a part of 20 photos that helped Associated Press grab the first place in one of the ‘Pictures of the year award’ categories.

The picture was clicked by Associated Press photographer Ali Mahmud. The body in the picture was of Shani Louk, a 23-year-old German-Israeli tattoo artist, who was unfortunately present on the scene when Hamas terrorists carried out a deadly onslaught at a music event in October last year.

“Shame on @poyipics @apnews for awarding “1st place team pic of the year” to the complicit photojournalists who snapped away as her 23 yr old lifeless body was thrown in the back of a pick up truck + abducted into Gaza,” one social media user wrote.

“Shani’s family should sue @AP and @poyipics for using Shani terrible end for propaganda. Shame on them!” another social media user wrote.

“@apnews poyipics Awarding this is disgusting. No one with any humanity doesn’t get that it is preferable &an obligation to PREVENT atrocity than to “record” it. Not using foreknowledge of an atrocity to prevent it, makes you complicit, regardless of profession,” yet another comment read.

Louk was identified and declared dead after a bone from her skull was found. “We are devastated to share that the body of 23 year old German-Israeli Shani (Louk) was found and identified,” the Israeli Ministry had said in October 2023.
