Highly recommend This Is A Robbery on Netflix and the Last Seen podcast. Both detail the heist. The museum still has the empty frames on display.

I'm just marveling at how there are paintings inside the painting.
Like, are they representative of actual historical paintings, or are they completely original and merely exist as nested artifacts?
