President Joe Biden has retaken the lead against his presumptuous 2024 Republican challenger Donald Trump in a new survey.
A Morning Consult Poll released Tuesday showed that Biden with a narrow 43 to 42 percent lead over Trump in a hypothetical 2024 race, with 11 percent of respondents stating they would vote for "someone else" and 5 percent still undecided.
The latest poll of 6,527 registered voters was conducted between November 24 and 26, and arrives after a previous Morning Consult survey conducted between November 18 and 20 revealed Biden was trailing Trump by four points when people were asked who they would vote for in the 2024 race. The four-point lead Biden has managed to claw back from Trump in a matter of days was the largest deficit recorded for the president since Morning Consult began its daily tracking of the White House race in December 2022.
The results may give some potential respite for Biden, who is frequently facing concerns about his age and poll numbers heading into next year's election, with numerous other recent surveys suggesting Trump is the current favorite to win next year's closely fought race.

Elsewhere, the Morning Consult poll suggests that voters would prefer it if neither Biden nor Trump were the two main challenges at the 2024 election.
A summary of the results described the 11 percent of people who said they would back a third-party candidate as an "exceptionally high" number that reflects "Americans' dissatisfaction with their probable choices next year."
The Morning Consult poll also shows that a majority of voters hold an unfavorable view of both Biden (54 percent) and Trump (52 percent), although the Republican has a slightly higher favorable rating than that of the president (42-43 percent).
The poll summary states that Biden has seen his "popularity edge" over Trump slide since the GOP presidential primary, where Trump holds overwhelming leads over, began to take shape several months ago.
It also seems that Trump's ongoing legal issues, where he faces a total of 91 charges across four investigations, do not appear to be damaging his White House chances. Over the past four Morning Consult surveys, Trump's net favorability rating has been higher than Biden's.
In a press conference on the day of Biden's 81st birthday on November 20, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said people should be concentrating on the president's record, rather than the polls.
"What we say is we have to judge him by what he's done, not by his numbers," Jean-Pierre said. "I would put the president's stamina, the president's wisdom, ability to get this done on behalf of the American people, against anyone," she added.
