The event security at The Game Awards 2023 is being ramped up in order to avoid the unforeseen incident from last year’s show.
During a live Q&A session, The Game Awards producer and host Geoff Keighley was asked whether he is taking more security measures for the 2023 event in order to prevent stage crashers.
Keighley responded by saying that he didn’t want to discuss this matter much publicly because it concerns security.
So, that’s an important thing to keep in mind as well, he added.
Earlier this month, Keighley took to social media to reveal the 2023 nominees for a variety of categories, including overall Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, Best Score and Music, Best Audio Design, Best Performance, Innovation in Accessibility, Games for Impact, and more.
Nominated for Best Game are Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake 2, Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3, Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Capcom’s Resident Evil 4, Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros. Wonder and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
In the category of Most Anticipated Game, the games nominated are Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Hades II, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Star Wars Outlaws, and Tekken 8. »
